LARRY WONG MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Larry Wong was a high school teacher in the Norwalk-La Mirada School District for 35 years. In addition to teaching government and history, he organized educational field trips and made it possible for thousands of students to visit Washington, D.C. and East Coast historical sites. Mr. Wong also raised funds for hundreds of college scholarships given to students in this school district. He worked countless hours for the students of this community both before and after his retirement from teaching.
This scholarship was named for Larry Wong after his death in 2007. It is the desire of the LWAHF that his legacy of giving be carried on through this $500.00 scholarship.
Applicants must be graduating seniors from any Norwalk-La Mirada Unified High School, with a 2.5 or higher grade point average, enrolling in a community college or 4- year college.

MALDEF 2019-2020 Scholarship Resource Guide
MALDEF is pleased to provide you with this extensive list of scholarships, including many that do not inquire about immigration status or require a valid social security number. The overview of scholarships provided includes website links that you are advised to visit for more complete details as it is not practical to list every requirement of each scholarship. Please read through, or download, the information here and select scholarships that are applicable to you. As a general rule, if an application asks for your social security number and you do not have one yet, leave that space blank but fill out and turn in the otherwise completed application. Many scholarship awards can be processed with just the student’s name and address. If a scholarship specifically requests a SSN, ask if it is possible to submit an ITIN instead.
