Superintendent Message to the Community

Norwalk-La Mirada USD Logo
Dear NLMUSD Community, The past few days have been very difficult for communities across the nation. The tragic death of George Floyd and the events that followed have caused us to reflect on our roles as educators for equity, tolerance, and belonging. At NLMUSD, our schools are places where we do more than educate students. Our schools foster a community of acceptance, empathy and kindness for others. We condemn acts of hate and violence and we stand in solidarity with NLMUSD African American students and staff. We will continue to work together and embrace our responsibility to create more inclusive and socially just environments for staff, students, and parents. Our students, more than ever, need to feel safe and be heard. Please continue to listen, reassure, and affirm them. They give us hope for a better future. We are the Norwalk La Mirada Unified School District Family, and we stand together. Let’s be mindful of the power of our actions to change the course of history for the betterment of all people. Sincerely, Hasmik Danielian, Ed.D. Superintendent
